This comes after the team's failure in Europe's top competition and a season without any titles, unless they manage to close the gap to Barcelona in La Liga

Big names: Zizou

The names on the shortlist to replace the Spanish manager have been mentioned throughout the year since Xabi Alonso left after losing to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup. Zidane is emerging as one of the favorites that Florentino Pérez would like to see take over the role, but it appears that the Frenchman will be aiming for Deschamps ' position on the French national team. With the World Cup fast approaching, it is highly likely that, if given the chance and considering the scarcity of opportunities to coach France during a World Cup, he will choose the latter option.

Strong alternatives

Other names that continue to be widely discussed and that would be considered if Real Madrid needs a change of head coach are Deschamps; Klopp, who has already been linked to the club several times this year and has confirmed that he has been contacted by people close to Real, although he has not shown any clear interest; and Mauricio Pochettino, the current head coach of the U.S. national team.
