Video | The Day Lewandowski Crushed Real Madrid with Four Goals
On April 24, 2013, the Polish striker stunned the world with his four-goal performance against Real Madrid while playing for Borussia Dortmund.
Robert Lewandowski recently suffered a defeat against Real Madrid with Barcelona this past Sunday in El Clásico, held at the Santiago Bernabéu. It was a tough loss in a match where, in addition, the Polish striker was substituted. Ten years ago, the scenario was very different.
Today marks the 11th anniversary of one of the most impressive displays by a striker against Real Madrid. On April 24, 2013, Lewandowski scored as many as four goals against the Spanish club.
At the time, he was playing for Borussia Dortmund. His four-goal performance came in the first leg of the Champions League semifinals, leading Dortmund to a convincing 4-1 victory that would ultimately secure their place in the final of the prestigious European club tournament.
However, after reaching the final, Dortmund lost the decisive match to Bayern Munich, who were crowned champions of that edition of the Champions League.
