€2 Billion Offer Made To Buy Napoli
An American investment group is pushing to buy Napoli and transform the club into a major multi-sport powerhouse.
Napoli could be facing one of the most important decisions in its history. According to reports from The Athletic, the American group Underdog Global Partners has submitted a massive €2 billion offer to purchase the club currently owned by Aurelio De Laurentiis.
If completed, the deal would become one of the biggest sales in global sports history and could mark the end of an era in Italian football. Since 2004, De Laurentiis has guided Napoli through a family-owned business model that successfully returned the club to the top level of European football.
Despite the staggering amount involved, Napoli’s initial response was clear: the club is not for sale. However, the American consortium has not backed away and continues to work behind the scenes to convince the Italian leadership with an ambitious long-term project.
Underdog Global Partners already has investments in Italy. The company owns Campobasso, a Serie C football club, and recently acquired Napoli Basketball, which competes in Italy’s top basketball division. Their vision reportedly involves building a multi-sport empire centered around Napoli.
The project would also include the renovation and privatization of the iconic Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, one of Europe’s most historic football venues. In addition, the group is believed to be preparing for the launch of NBA Europe, expected in 2027.
The scale of the offer becomes even more remarkable considering De Laurentiis originally bought Napoli for less than 2% of the amount now being proposed.
For now, Napoli remains firm in its position, but financial pressure and the scale of the project could eventually lead to historic negotiations in the months ahead.
