Liverpool Legend Calls for Michael Olise at Anfield
The performances of Michael Olise this season have drawn significant attention. His level has been so outstanding that he has even entered the conversation for the Ballon d'Or. At Liverpool, he has not gone unnoticed, and a club legend has already spoken out to call for his signing.
In an interview, the former player stated that, amid the possible departure of Mohamed Salah, Olise would fit perfectly into the team: “Liverpool struggles a lot on the wings. We lost Luis Díaz… we need a winger, and Olise seems ideal to me.”
Obstacles in Negotiations with Bayern Munich
With the Egyptian’s exit, a major gap would open up in the attack, and Vladimír Šmicer is clear: Olise should be the chosen one. However, he also acknowledges the difficulty of the deal: “It will be difficult to negotiate with Bayern Munich,” said the former midfielder.
Olise is under contract with Bayern Munich until 2029, and his value is around €100 million. However, there is one detail that could work in Liverpool’s favor: the Frenchman does not have a release clause, which would allow for direct negotiations between the clubs.
Liverpool has already invested close to €300 million in signings such as Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, and Florian Wirtz, but the results have not met expectations. Therefore, the financial aspect does not appear to be the main obstacle. The real issue is that Bayern Munich rarely lets go of its key players, making a move to the Premier League difficult—especially if Olise delivers a strong World Cup.

An Ideal Profile to Strengthen the Attack
A strong performance in the tournament would further increase his value, potentially putting him out of reach even for a club with Liverpool’s financial power.
Vladimír Šmicer believes that Michael Olise would be the perfect complement to a frontline that currently lacks depth. His ability to take on defenders down the right wing, cut inside, and unleash powerful long-range shots makes him a highly dangerous player, as he already showed in the tie against Real Madrid.
Additionally, his inward runs allow him to create chances and provide assists for his teammates. This season, he has recorded 20 assists in 27 matches, establishing himself as the main creative force of the German side.
Olise would fit perfectly at Liverpool, but to complete the move, the English club would need to negotiate with Bayern Munich, something that, for now, appears very difficult.
