Antoine Semenyo Wins the February Player of the Month in the Premier League
Ghanaian winger Antoine Semenyo continues to make an immediate impact since joining Manchester City. After arriving in January from AFC Bournemouth, the attacker delivered an outstanding February with three goals and one assist in five matches, earning him the Premier League Player of the Month.
The start of Antoine Semenyo’s journey with Manchester City could hardly have been better. The Ghana international was named February Player of the Month in the Premier League after making an instant impact following his winter transfer.
The winger joined from AFC Bournemouth in a big-money move and quickly became an influential figure in the squad. During February, he played five matches, scoring three goals and providing one assist, establishing himself as one of the most dangerous attacking options in the team coached by Pep Guardiola.
With this award, Semenyo becomes the third Ghana international to win the honor, following Tony Yeboah and Andre Ayew. He also ends an interesting streak for City, becoming the first player from the club not named Erling Haaland to win the award since Raheem Sterling did so in December 2021.
The forward beat out strong competition from Viktor Gyökeres, Virgil van Dijk, Benjamin Šeško, Dango Ouattara and his teammate Nico O'Reilly.
