Igor Tudor Explodes at Raúl Jiménez, Labels Him a “Cheat” After Derby Defeat
Another London derby defeat, and the frustration finally boiled over. Igor Tudor didn’t just question the refereeing — he directly called out Raúl Jiménez in a fiery post-match outburst.
A derby that ignited the controversy
Tottenham suffered their second London derby defeat in a week, falling 2-1 to Fulham at Craven Cottage just days after a heavy loss to Arsenal. But beyond the result, it was Igor Tudor’s post-match reaction that grabbed headlines.
The controversy centered on Fulham’s opening goal. In the build-up, Raúl Jiménez clashed heavily with Radu Dragusin, and despite protests from Spurs players, play continued. Moments later, Harry Wilson found the net. Alex Iwobi later doubled Fulham’s lead, leaving Tottenham chasing the game.
“It’s ridiculous”: Tudor’s harsh accusation
Tudor did not hold back when asked about the incident. The Croatian manager insisted the play should have been ruled a foul and openly accused Jiménez of gaining an unfair advantage.
“Nine out of ten people will say it’s a foul. It’s obvious,” Tudor said. He went further, claiming Jiménez was not focused on the ball but on manipulating the situation. “He wasn’t thinking about football, he was thinking about how to cheat. That’s cheating,” Tudor added, calling the referee’s decision “ridiculous” given its direct impact on the match.
A brutal assessment of his own team
While furious about the officiating, Tudor also turned his attention inward. “We lacked everything,” he admitted bluntly. The interim manager, who replaced Thomas Frank, stressed that the issue goes beyond tactics.
“It’s not about the system. It’s about attitude, personality, running and winning duels,” he explained. Tudor pointed out that Fulham were sharper, quicker to react, and mentally ahead throughout the match.
Pressure mounting in North London
The defeat extends Tottenham’s winless run to ten matches in all competitions, leaving them just four points above the relegation zone. Tudor’s explosive comments reflect the growing tension around a team struggling for confidence and cohesion.
Spurs now turn their attention to a crucial clash against Crystal Palace, knowing a response is urgently needed. For Tudor, the message was clear — frustration is boiling, accountability is demanded, and the margin for error is rapidly disappearing.
