Mbappé’s Stunning Goals Against Valencia Put Him on Track for Another Golden Boot
The French forward dazzled at the Santiago Bernabéu with a brace that solidified his spectacular start to the season with Real Madrid
The Santiago Bernabéu witnessed yet another magical night from Kylian Mbappé. The French striker, who presented his recently won 2024–25 Golden Boot to the fans before kickoff, delivered on the pitch with two decisive goals in Real Madrid’s victory over Valencia, proving that his hunger for records remains as sharp as ever.
Mbappé lifted the trophy recognizing him as Europe’s top scorer from last season, when he netted 31 goals in 34 matches for the Spanish giants. His 62 points in the ranking placed him above Viktor Gyökeres (then with Sporting CP, now at Arsenal) and Mohamed Salah of Liverpool, cementing his status as the most lethal attacker in Europe.

“It’s a very special moment for me. It’s the first time I’ve won this award, and I share it with my teammates, who help me give my best every day,” said the Frenchman before the match, amid applause from a packed Bernabéu and congratulations from Florentino Pérez.
A Brilliant Brace for a Perfect Night
Once the game began, Mbappé showed exactly why he’s the favorite to retain his Golden Boot title. His first goal came from the penalty spot after a handball by César Tárrega spotted by VAR. With his usual composure, the Frenchman fired a powerful strike to the goalkeeper’s right to open the scoring for Real Madrid.
The second goal was a masterclass in teamwork. Jude Bellingham slipped a precise pass down the right flank to Arda Güler, who sent in a perfectly measured cross. Mbappé met it cleanly with his left foot, sending the ball into the back of the net and sealing a first half dominated entirely by Los Blancos.
Mbappé, Real Madrid’s Shining Star
With this brace, Mbappé has now reached 16 goals in 13 matches this season, maintaining an otherworldly scoring rate. The Frenchman was also named LaLiga Player of the Month for October, after scoring three goals and providing one assist.
Real Madrid, the clear leaders of the league, are thriving with Mbappé in peak form. His connection with Bellingham and Güler is becoming increasingly lethal, and each match feels like another step toward his second consecutive Golden Boot. At the Bernabéu, Mbappé’s goals are doing more than earning points—they’re already carving out history.
