Hansi Flick Loses Raphinha at the Worst Possible Time for Barcelona: Titles at Stake During His Absence
Raphinha ruled out for one week and will miss Copa del Rey quarterfinals with Barcelona
FC Barcelona forward Raphael Dias “Raphinha” will be sidelined for one week due to an adductor overload in his right leg and will miss the Copa del Rey quarterfinal match this Tuesday against Albacete, the club announced on Monday.
The Brazil international played the first half of the match that Barcelona won 1–3 away to Elche on Sunday, but was substituted at halftime by Marcus Rashford.
Raphinha did not train on Monday with the rest of the squad at the Joan Gamper Training Ground, and his absence adds to the already known injuries of Andreas Christensen, Pedro González “Pedri”, and Pablo Páez Gavira “Gavi”.
There was positive news for Barcelona as defender Jules Koundé took part in the training session after finishing Sunday’s match with physical discomfort. Head coach Hansi Flick is expected to provide more details on his condition during Monday’s post-training press conference.
