Gerard Piqué Mocks áLvaro Arbeloa With a Banner at the Kings League, Reigniting the Barcelona-Real Madrid Rivalry
The owner of the Kings League displayed a banner mocking Álvaro Arbeloa, reviving a past rivalry
The mockery of Arbeloa
Piqué mocked Arbeloa in the Kings League with a banner referring to the new Real Madrid coach. A rivalry that dates back to when they both played in the Spanish classic between Barcelona and the Merengues, possibly one of the roughest and tensest rivalries of the moment, which was during the 2010-13 period between Guardiola's team and Mourinho's team.
A past rivalry
The banner that Piqué placed in the Kings League had the phrase "We are not that cone-nected"; this phrase was a play on words with the division of the word "connected" and refers to a cone, or a derogatory way of mocking the then right-back. The owner of the Kings League sought an old rivalry to revive it and a way to respond to a comment and joke that Arbeloa made in 2015 about Piqué's possible future as a comedian.

Arbeloa-Piqué returns
The rivalry between the two left the football fields and endures to this day, and with this gesture from Piqué, it presents an opportunity for Arbeloa to respond and prolong these comments, which both have been able to make throughout their relationship as rivals.
