Barcelona Begins to Lose Hope With Raphinha: The Worst Is Yet to Come Ahead of the Copa Del Rey Semifinal
FC Barcelona remain closely monitoring Raphael Dias “Raphinha” ahead of the Copa del Rey semifinal first leg against Atlético de Madrid, with just two days to go before the crucial clash. The Brazilian winger did not train with the squad on Tuesday, and his availability for the match remains uncertain.
Raphinha doubtful for Copa del Rey semifinal vs Atlético de Madrid
Raphinha was substituted at halftime during the LaLiga match against Elche, and since then he has missed games against Albacete and Mallorca. Medical tests confirmed a right adductor strain, an issue that has prompted the coaching staff to proceed with caution.
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick urged patience when discussing the winger’s recovery, making it clear the club does not want to take risks at a decisive stage of the season.
Raphinha’s potential absence would represent a major setback for Barcelona ahead of the showdown with Atlético de Madrid, one of the most demanding fixtures on the schedule in the race to reach the Copa del Rey final.
During Tuesday’s training session, Frenkie de Jong was also under observation. The Dutch midfielder is not yet at full fitness, but he trained with the group, increasing his chances of being available for the cup match.
Barcelona will continue to evaluate both players in the coming hours before making a final decision.
