LIVE: AS FAR vs Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League Final on beIN SPORTS
AS FAR and Mamelodi Sundowns will decide the new African champion this Sunday in a final expected to deliver drama until the very end. The South African side arrives with a narrow advantage, but the Moroccan club hopes to complete a comeback in front of a packed stadium in Rabat.
The 2025-26 CAF Champions League reaches its climax this Sunday with one of the most exciting finals in recent years. AS FAR hosts Mamelodi Sundowns at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat needing to overturn a 1-0 deficit suffered in the first leg in South Africa.
The visitors claimed the advantage thanks to a stunning free-kick from Aubrey Modiba in Pretoria, although the margin could have been larger after several missed chances from the side coached by Miguel Cardoso. Even so, the result leaves the tie completely open for the Moroccan club, which believes home advantage can make the difference.
Beyond the prestige of lifting Africa’s biggest club trophy, both teams are also competing for a record six-million-dollar prize and qualification to international competitions including the CAF Super Cup, FIFA Intercontinental Cup, and the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup.
Mamelodi Sundowns Chasing Another African Crown
For Mamelodi Sundowns, this final offers the chance to conquer Africa once again for the first time since 2016. The South African giants are also looking to erase the pain of last season’s final defeat against Pyramids FC.

Coach Miguel Cardoso admitted that the team’s recent experience in major continental matches could play an important role in handling the pressure in Rabat. However, he also acknowledged that playing away in Morocco may represent the toughest challenge of their entire campaign.
Sundowns will likely rely once again on the attacking speed and movement they displayed in the first leg while maintaining defensive discipline against an opponent forced to attack from the opening whistle.
AS FAR Believes in the Comeback
On the other side, AS FAR dreams of lifting the African Champions League trophy again after more than four decades. The Moroccan side last won the competition in 1985 and now hopes to use the energy of its supporters to create another historic moment.
Manager Alexandre Santos emphasized that the narrow deficit keeps the tie alive and stressed the importance of avoiding defensive mistakes against one of the continent’s strongest teams.
With a sold-out stadium and enormous pressure on the visitors, the Moroccan side will try to impose intensity from the first minute in a final that has all of Africa watching closely.
