Banyana Banyana Survive Scare to Stay in Title Hunt
South Africa are just two wins away from retaining their CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title after overcoming a determined Senegal side in a dramatic penalty shootout. The quarter-final clash in Saalfelden was fiercely contested from the opening whistle, with both teams creating chances but unable to convert. Jermaine Seoposenwe, Hildah Magaia, and Karabo Dhlamini all came close for South Africa, but were denied by Senegal’s solid defending and standout keeper Adji Ndiaye.
On the other side, Mama Diop and Nguenar Ndiaye tested the South African defense, yet Dlamini stood tall, making several vital saves late in regulation time to keep the clean sheet intact.
