Another Legal Problem for Neymar! Former Employee Files Million-Dollar Lawsuit
Brazilian star Neymar is once again at the center of controversy, this time off the pitch. A woman who claims she worked as a cook at his residence has filed a lawsuit in a labor court in Rio de Janeiro alleging abusive working conditions.
The name Neymar, one of the most recognizable footballers in the world, has once again made headlines for reasons unrelated to football. According to reports from Portuguese outlet Record, cited by Transfer News Live, a former employee has taken the case to court, claiming she endured extreme working conditions while employed at the Brazilian star’s home.
The case has been filed with the TRT-1 Labor Court in Rio de Janeiro, where authorities will evaluate accusations involving long working hours, physically demanding tasks, and alleged unpaid overtime during her employment at Neymar’s residence.
Allegations of 16-Hour Workdays
In the lawsuit presented to the court, the woman claims that her workday typically began at around 7 a.m. and sometimes extended until 11 p.m., which would amount to shifts lasting nearly 16 hours.
According to her statement, these long hours were not limited to weekdays. She alleges that she was also required to work on weekends, particularly when events or gatherings were held at Neymar’s property.
During some of these occasions, the former cook claims she had to prepare food for more than 150 guests, significantly increasing the workload inside the kitchen.
Physically Demanding Tasks at Neymar’s Residence
The lawsuit also includes claims regarding the physical demands of the job. According to the woman’s testimony, her responsibilities went beyond cooking and included lifting large cuts of meat and moving heavy kitchen equipment necessary to prepare meals for large groups.
She stated that she often had to handle meat pieces weighing around 10 kilograms, along with other industrial kitchen tools used during large gatherings.
According to her account, the combination of heavy lifting and extended work hours caused significant physical strain over time.
Compensation Being Sought
According to the report by Record, the woman claims the job eventually caused health problems, particularly affecting her back and hips.
As a result, she is seeking compensation of approximately €43,000, which would include alleged unpaid overtime, medical expenses, and damages related to the injuries she says she suffered while working for Neymar.
Case Now in the Hands of the Courts
The case will now be reviewed by the TRT-1 Labor Court in Rio de Janeiro, where the allegations and evidence presented by both sides will be examined before any ruling is made.
For now, representatives of Neymar have declined to comment publicly on the accusations. The claims outlined in the lawsuit have not yet been proven in court, and the legal process remains ongoing.
