The summer so far…

The early part was dominated by the Declan Rice transfer, although that was put to bed when Arsenal paid a then-British record fee for the Hammers captain. After a few weeks of radio silence only now have West Ham begun to splash the cash. First through the door was highly rated Mexican Edson Álvarez from Ajax whilst the club is also expected to sign James Ward Prouse from Southampton and continue to be linked with Manchester United pair Harry Maguire and Scott Mctominey. Manchester City remain interested in Lucas Paquetá and West Ham will do well to resist a mega offer from the Premier League champions.

Player to watch…

Jarrod Bowen was the man to deliver the UEFA Europa Conference League trophy with a delightfully composed finish against Fiorentina in Prague. The attacker scored 6 goals and provided 5 assists last season in the league and will be looking to boost up those numbers this campaign. Affectionately adored for having a relationship with Dani Dyer (daughter of a famous fan who is called Danny Dyer) a high-scoring season would cement his legacy in West Ham folklore.

A decidedly mid-table finish for the Hammers as they battle with the rigours of Premier League and Europa League football this season.
