Igor Tudor launches extraordinary Tottenham rant
Igor Tudor has laughed off the criticism he has faced as Tottenham Hotspur head coach, insisting the solution is not to sack him.
The Croatian has lost each of his first four games in charge of Spurs, with a 5-2 UEFA Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid the latest of six consecutive losses in all competitions.
Tottenham has lost each of its past five Premier League games. It is also the only side without a Premier League win so far in 2026, drawing four and losing seven of its 11 games.
Pressure has grown on Tudor, with Spurs reportedly already looking for replacements, but the head coach has warned the club against sacking him.
"People think a new coach will come in and things will change and the problems will resolve," Tudor said.
"It makes me laugh.
"When people want a new coach, it's a new hope. People always want new hope that things will change but the reality is totally different. The reality is not that.
"In this world where everyone has an opinion, you can never win. But as coaches we have to focus on what we can change. We need to stay calm and believe in ourselves."
Next up for Spurs is a trip to Liverpool, and Tudor will be without Cristian Romero, Joao Palhinha and the suspended Micky van de Ven at Anfield.
When asked if he has been unlucky with absentees at Spurs since his arrival, Tudor said: "I don't believe in that stuff.
"But there's too much. Every game, two or three players are out.
"Sometimes it is not easy to understand the reasons. Sometimes you understand the problems and I recognise them, but it's been difficult.
"It is what it is and we need to accept that. We need to see it as a challenge and not cry."
