After a forced month-long break following the cancellations of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix in April, Formula 1 roars back into action with the Miami Grand Prix from May 2–4!

Held at the Miami International Autodrome, the race marks the fourth round of the 2026 season and will also host the campaign’s second Sprint event.

Notably, rule tweaks have been introduced following an agreement among all stakeholders during the break. These changes are aimed at encouraging more flat-out racing, with adjustments to energy management, power deployment, qualifying usage, and race procedures. As part of this, Free Practice 1 will be extended to 90 minutes - up from the usual 60 - to help teams adapt.

Mercedes lead the Constructors’ Championship with 135 points, while rising Italian star Kimi Antonelli tops the Drivers’ standings. He holds a nine-point advantage over teammate George Russell, who sits on 63.

Meanwhile, Round 2 of the 2026 Formula 2 season will also take place in Miami, ensuring a packed weekend of racing action.

UPDATE: The start time of the Miami Grand Prix has been brought forward by three hours to 1am (GMT+8) following discussions between the FIA, Formula 1 and the race promoter, due to a forecast of heavier rain later in the afternoon near the original start time of 4am (GMT+8).
