Max Verstappen claims maiden Singapore Grand Prix victory
The Red Bull driver held off Charles Leclerc at the opening corner before gradually pulling away from the Ferrari. Verstappen maintained his advantage through the pit stop phase, making a smooth switch from soft to medium tyres.
Despite encountering radio issues that forced Red Bull to communicate with him via the pit board, Verstappen remained in control to secure his 73rd career victory on his 250th Grand Prix start.
Leclerc finished second, 7.3 seconds behind, while Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli took third to strengthen his championship lead. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri came home fourth and fifth respectively, followed by Lewis Hamilton in the second Ferrari.
Racing Bulls’ Liam Lawson finished seventh, with Audi’s Nico Hulkenberg completing the top eight.
