According to reports out of Italy, Wolves tabled a club record $A58.8 million bid for the 22 year-old, which was quickly rebuffed by the Rossoneri.
Wolves fans took to twitter to express their excitement about the prospect of signing the Portugal international.
Wolves are poised to return to the Premier League next season, topping the EFL Championship by 12 points after 26 games.
