Kyrgios at a loss to explain Tomic Cup absence
Nick Kyrgios is disappointed by Bernard Tomic's absence for Australia's Davis Cup team and believes there is no reason for his no-show against Czech Republic.
Tomic has decided not to represent his country for this week's tie in Melbourne and officially cited a scheduling conflict, although reports have suggested Tomic's camp is unhappy with Tennis Australia due to a funding dispute with his sister Sara.
Last year Tomic accused Kyrgios of "faking" illness to get out of their Davis Cup tie against the United States.
On this occasion it is the controversial Kyrgios that has taken issue with his team-mate's commitment.
"We're not going to beg guys to play but it's disappointing not having him here as there's no reason why he shouldn't be here," Kyrgios said.
Captain Lleyton Hewitt cast doubt on Tomic's future Davis Cup involvement when addressing the situation last week.
"I'm not sure ... I really don't know," Hewitt said. "This is his decision - not mine - I don't know the full extent of how serious he is to play Davis Cup for Australia. You'd have to ask him."
