Cheika has no concern over Wallabies depth
Australia has enough depth to cope with the challenge of facing England, according to Michael Cheika.
Australia coach Michael Cheika insists he is not concerned by an alleged lack of depth in his Wallabies ranks ahead of a three-Test series against England.
The 2016 Super Rugby season has seen Australian sides struggle for form, while former international Michael Lynagh suggested Six Nations champion England could win the June series 3-0.
Cheika could be without some of his Europe-based stars for the fixtures as they recover from a long season that started with the 2015 Rugby World Cup, but he says that will give opportunities to fringe players who merit selection.
"People may not believe in us, but we need to believe in ourselves," he said. "I'm certainly not going to be complaining about depth at all. We've got heaps of players that are looking for the opportunity to put their hand up and make a statement.
"I won't be scared to give guys a game, but they have to show that they deserve that game. I'm not going to give them a game because 'oh well, let's try someone new'.
"The more they play consistently well individually in their teams, the more chance they are of getting selected."
The first match of the series takes place in Brisbane on 11 June.
