Villa stunner seals NYCFC fightback
NYCFC extended its win streak to five matches after scoring three unanswered goals to down Minnesota United 3-1 on Friday (AEST).
Minnesota United off to the perfect start in the ninth minute, when Johansen parried Venegas's long range strike into the path of Ramirez, who thumped the ball home from close range.
NYCFC immediately went on the hunt for the equaliser, and found it in the 38th minute courtesy of Alexander Callens's composed strike from six yards.
Harrison put the home side in front ten minutes into the second half, ghosting to the far post and heading home Rodney Wallace's pin-point cross.
David Villa scored netted his eleventh goal of the season in spectacular fashion darting run down the right, before cutting onto his left foot and rifling the ball into the top corner.
The win sees NYCFC strengthen its hold on third spot in the Eastern Conference standings.
