Schalke shouts round of beers for season opener
It's Schalke's shout this weekend with a free beer on offer for every fan over the age of 16 during it's Bundesliga opener against RB Leipzig on Sunday (AEST).
Schalke finished 10th in a disappointing 2016-2017 season, and the Royal Blues are looking to get the new season off on a better note, offering a free round of beer to all fans over the German drinking age of 16.
Schalke fans will receive a complimentary voucher with their ticket, which they can use on a product of their choice from brewing company Veltins.
The Bundesliga side confirmed the news on Twitter, describing the gesture as the 'largest free beer round of the Bundesliga.'
It's sure to be a very expensive round for Schalke, with the Veltins-Arena boasting an average attendance of 60,000 per game last season.
