Menez loses part of his ear in Bordeaux debut
Jeremy Menez had the debut from hell just two days after signing for Bordeaux, losing part of his ear while colliding with Lorient midfielder Didier Ndong.
Menez joined Bordeaux from AC Milan two days ago and hoped for a dream debut against Lorient on Thursday (AEST).
That dream quickly became a nightmare in the second half, when Ndong stepped on his ear and the Frenchman was reeling in agony.
Bordeaux confirmed the nasty injury and revealed its new signing may require surgery to repair his damaged ear.
“Jeremy Menez had an ear cut off during the encounter against Lorient, which led to his premature exit in the 77th minute,” the club announced.
“The medical staff will take a surgical opinion on whether to operate on the new Bordeaux player.”
