Former FIFA Executive Committee member Makudi suspended
The Independent Ethics Committee has banned former FIFA Executive Committee member Worawi Makudi from all football activity for 90 days.
Former FIFA Executive Committee member and president of the Thailand Football Association Worawi Makudi has been handed a 90-day suspension from all football activities.
The adjudicatory chamber of the Ethics Committee, chaired by Hans-Joachim Eckert, has sanctioned Makudi for "a breach of the Code of Ethics." The ban will stop him from participating in all football activities at the national and international level. It has been confirmed that the case is now the subject of formal investigation proceedings.
FIFA president Sepp Blatter and vice-president Michel Platini had suspensions of 90 days imposed on them Thursday.
Both deny any wrongdoing, with Blatter appealing his suspension Friday – before Platini followed suit Saturday – having also been alleged to have signed an "unfavorable" contract with the Caribbean Football Union in 2005 that experts claim handed over World Cup television rights for a fraction of their market value.
