Peter Sagan clinched stage 16 of the Tour de France after edging out Alexander Kristoff in a thrilling sprint finish and Chris Froome maintained his overall lead on Monday.
Sagan summoned one last burst at the climax of the 209-kilometre route from Moirans-en-Montagne to Berne and the Tinkoff rider was rewarded when he got the verdict following a photo finish.
Kristoff (Katusha) raised his finger after crossing the line, but a replay showed Slovakian world champion Sagan finished in front by less than the width of a tyre to claim his third stage win of this year's race.
Sagan failed to pick up any points on Sunday, but the green jersey holder showed his sprinting prowess yet again, with Mark Cavendish unable to claim a fifth stage win after a final cobbled climb took its toll on the Manxman.
Team Sky's general classification leader Froome finished comfortably in the peloton to remain a minute and 47 seconds better off than Bauke Mollema, with Adam Yates and Nairo Quintana remaining third and fourth respectively overall.
Etixx-Quick Step duo Julian Alaphilippe and Tony Martin led for the majority of the race, having made the break just 13km in.
Alaphilippe ran out of steam 25km from the end and Martin was caught by the peloton soon afterwards, allowing Rui Costa (Lampre-Merida) to hit the front on his own.
The Portuguese was gobbled up by the peloton just 4km from the end and it was Sagan who prevailed after a huge cluster of riders jostled for position in the Tour's first visit to the Swiss capital.
There are just five stages remaining after a rest day on Tuesday, with Froome seemingly on course for a third Tour title.
