Sports Burst - Mou's 4-Minute Warning
A must-win for Mou, Manic Monday and Ozil's exit?
A win against Spurs and a smile needed from Mourinho
Four minutes.
This is going to be a key figure in the wacky world of Manchester United on Monday. It was the length of Jose Mourinho's press conference on Friday with the Portuguese pouter arriving half-an-hour early and handling 13 questions as curtly as possible.
Four minutes is roughly how much decent football Manchester United has played so far this season - all in the first match. Finally, four minutes is also the amount of time the Old Trafford side has to make an impact in Monday's clash against Tottenham before fans in the stands start to get uppity in their expensively procured seats.
While the story of Zinedine Zidane waiting in the wings to take over in England's northwest is probably a hoax, what Manchester United fans are looking for in the Spurs saga - as well as a sixth home victory in this fixture on the bounce - is some kind of indication that Mourinho actively enjoys the concept of being the United boss and wanting to transmit that to his downbeat players.
United supporters have had to endure Pep "guys, guys, guys, guys, guys" Guardiola oozing enthusiasm in a documentary, Jurgen Klopp grinning from ear to ear atop the EPL table and even Maurizio Pochettino discussing goal celebrations without a rant about triviality.
So that's two requirements from Mourinho on Monday - a rousing win...and a big smile.
Tune into the Locker Room from 7:30PM ET / 4:30PM for reaction to that game and all the weekend's big stories.
Manic Monday sees Liga light up and Turkish Delight
Elsewhere on a fairly Manic Monday Sports Burst's I-don't-have-to-run-day and La Liga is wrapping up its weekend with two tasty delights with a rampant Levante - yes rampant - hosting Celta Viga and Athletic Bilbao taking on the newbies of Huesca, a side looking for two from two in their top-flight debut.
Those can be found on beIN SPORTS CONNECT from 2PM ET / 11AM PT.
Galatasaray has the chance to take an early lead at top of the Turkish Superlig at the start of a topsy-turvy beginning for the competition. A few goals in a home clash against Alanyaspor will certainly do the job. That clash is live on beIN SPORTS at 2:40PM ET / 11:40AM PT.
Serie A is also finishing off the weekend with Roma hosting Atalanta and looking to keep up with the early - and traditional pace-setters - Juventus and Napoli.
The XTRA is the place to be at 7PM ET / 4PM PT for the best of the day's action from around the grounds.
Troubles for Thierry Henry and Mariano makes a move
TRANSFER TRACKER!
Less than a week to go in many markets but one dream managerial deal that looks like falling through is the wonderful notion of Thierry Henry taking over Bordeaux - and hopefully doing better than Patrick Vieira at Nice. Reports from France say that negotiations are stumbling over wages and a transfer budget.
Lyon and former Real Madrid striker, Mariano, is set to make a move to Sevilla - or Benfica - while Tottenham fullback Danny Rose is expected to head to Marseille on loan.
Indeed, the Englishman will have another newbie in the locker room to bond with as Kevin Strootman is also heading to the Ligue 1 side after leaving Roma. But not by choice, it seems with the Dutchman telling friends that "they sold me."
Head to our beIN SPORTS Facebook page at 12PM ET / 9AM PT for the Transfer Tracker show for the best of the day's gossip. Or watch it back at your leisure. It's all good.
Ozil heads closer to Arsenal exit door
Staying on a transfer bent and a huge name might well be joining the transfer market for those clubs with a bit of money left over and on the hunt for a German footballer who is either brilliant but completely misunderstood or only occasionally brilliant and a bit of a dilettante, quite frankly.
That footballer is Mesut Ozil, who was missing from the squad for Arsenal's weekend clash against West Ham either due to sickness and a bunged up nose - Unai Emery's claim - or a screaming row on the training ground that can never be underdone - some newspapers.
Monday sees Ozil as a 'Gooner', but Sports Burst predicts that the playmaker will be a 'Goner' with Emery feeling that his admittedly small squad will still be better off without the German.
