Sports Burst: Can Lionel Messi Stop Scottish Uprising?
Messi v complacency, Real Madrid face Bale fitness fight and Barca back in court. 5 traffic jams of truth in sport’s great getaway.

1) Luis Enrique battles complacency and Celts in Champions League rematch
The last time that plucky Scottish outfit, Celtic, played Barcelona footballing matters did not go so well in the Camp Nou with the visitors on the end of a 7-0 pasting in a true Champions League squishing.
But what the mighty men of Brendan Rogers will be clinging onto in Wednesday’s Group C rematch in terms of hope, is a famous 2-1 win in the Champions League in 2012 that is still being spoken about by Glasgow folk four years later in emotional terms.
A repeat of that result would scupper Barcelona’s plans to win the group, but the fact that Leo Messi should be back on the pitch after missing the maudlin draw against Malaga on Saturday is certainly a boost for a flagging Barca.
“It will be nothing like the game that has gone before," was the warning from Luis Enrique who spent Tuesday sniffing out complacency from his team with a pack of hounds. “We have no fear for the result. If we play our style we have an opportunity to get the result," boomed the Celtic boss.
2) Arsenal prepare for inevitable PSG stalemate
The other big clash in a crescendo of Champions League football will basically be a footballing geek-off between Arsene Wenger and Unai Emery, two men who probably hug tactics white boards in their sleep.
PSG are at the Emirates to take on Arsenal with both sides tied with points at the top of Group A and both more than capable of choking and blowing the encounter. The main concern of the Parisians was the eternally troublesome fullback, Serge Aurier, being denied entry into the UK due to a criminal conviction on the defender’s record. "Paris Saint-Germain strongly regrets that the presumption of innocence has not influenced Britain's decision,” fumed the French claim, arguing that Aurier is going through an appeal process.

3) Barca embroiled in tax fraud affair. Again.
Returning now to the heady world of Barcelona, and local Catalan authorities might want to consider setting a special Blaugrana courthouse for the club to save congestion and clogging up the city’s other legal institutions. Indeed, it might even be built into the Camp Nou. Leo Messi and Javier Mascherano have all add run ins with the law in recent months with the law winning.
And now, Neymar continues to feel the heat of the Powers That Be with the Spanish state prosecutor reportedly pursuing a two-year prison sentence for fraud for the Brazilian player over that infernal transfer from Santos in 2013. Former Barca president, Sandro Rosell, is up for five years of stir with a threat of a $10 million fine for Barcelona itself over the deal.
4) Bale faces fitness fight ahead of Clasico
Some Clasico alarm bells have rung for Real Madrid ahead of next week’s giant bust-up against Barcelona. Gareth Bale is set to be poked and prodded on Wednesday to discover the seriousness of an ankle injury picked up during Tuesday’s 2-1 win against Sporting CP in the Champions League. "He suffered more of a twist than a knock, but we will have to wait and see what the problem is," said Coach Zizou after the game.
But there was some good news at least from Valdebebas with Casemiro back in training with the rest of the team for the first time.
5) Canada secures F1 future
Good news for Canadian motor sport fans! The 2017 GP in June is set to go ahead as planned after a deal was done with the sport’s commercial right’s holders. The race had been on F1’s provisional list after improvements to the circuit were requested from Formula One bosses.
