1) Verratti in PSG agent agitation
Running in slow motion, pecs a’trembling, swim shorts flapping in the breeze – nope, not Cristiano Ronaldo, although the shy-and-retiring Real Madrid man was busy on Instagram this weekend – but Marco Verratti.
Just relax and enjoy the view🏡👌 A post shared by Cristiano Ronaldo (@cristiano) on Jun 11, 2017 at 4:00am PDT
The Italian one-man firestorm in midfield has joining the ranks of big transfer rumor mill-members this summer and could be swimming furiously towards the Camp Nou, David Hasselhoff style, to save the flapping and flagging Barcelona.
The agent of the PSG man was already hinting last week that Juventus might be a better bet for his client this summer, but Barca are also in the market for a player of his particular profile, but probably not of his price tag. This means that a photo published showing a meeting between PSG’s Sporting Director, Gianluca di Marzio, and agent Donato di Campli has got tongues a’wagging.
Of course, the meeting could literally have been about anything including the PSG man signing a new deal. Or even the chance to enjoy a nice pot of tea. But this is transfer silly season, and anything goes. Speaking of which, head to beIN SPORTS USA Facebook site at 12:30 for the first of a daily Transfer Tracker show with our Kay Murray and Kevin Egan where they will sort through the wheat from the whaaaaaaat?
2) Madrid’s young guns for the summer
Real Madrid signing ahoy! No, it’s not Kylian Mbappe – more on him in a moment – but a footballer they sort of already owned. Center back, Jesus Vallejo, had been on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga and has reportedly been told to report for duty at Madrid in July where he will become part of the first team squad as replacement for the departing Pepe.
Vallejo is expected to be joined by midfielder, Marcos Llorente, who impressed in a loan spell at Alaves last season. With the cost-effective recruitment of former youth players, combined with the potential sale of Alvaro Morata, Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez expect Real Madrid to buy someone this summer for $500m, just because they can.
3) Milan sign next Cristiano Ronaldo. Maybe.
Milan may not have bagged Alvaro Morata – a little out of the Serie A side’s league – but they have landed another fine striker in the form of Portugal international, Andre Silva. In quite the whirlwind move that even the former Porto man himself said was fairly fast the first order of business for Silva was to inform the Italian media that he was not the new Cristiano Ronaldo simply because he plays up front and has the same nationality.
“Heir to CR7? I’m calm, I have a lot to work to do before certain thoughts can be expressed,” said Silva in a lazily-translated way outside the clinic where the footballer was taking his medical.
And in another breaking Italian news, Roma are set to snatch Sassoulo coach, Eusebio Di Francesco, as their new manager. Proper announced expected later on Monday.
4) Everton make move for Malaga target man
TRANSFER TRACKER TIME! Everton (remember them?) have suddenly become busy bees in their perennial hunt for seventh in the Premier League. The Merseyside outfit are now frontrunners for Malaga and former Barca striker, Sandro Ramirez and also Ajax captain Davy Klaassen.
Speaking of all things Liverpool, and the club has caused much social media mirth by reportedly contacting the Kylian Mbappe camp about signing the in-demand Monaco man.
