Barcelona Sanction Andre Gomes Loan to Everton
Everton's strong deadline day continued with Barcelona announcing they have struck a deal for Andre Gomes to join the Toffees on loan.
Andre Gomes' Barcelona nightmare is set to be put on hold for a year after the Catalan club confirmed they have reached an agreement for him to go on loan to Everton for the 2018-19 season.
The Portugal international will join Marco Silva's side after Everton agreed to pay €2.25m to land him on loan for the season, while they will also pay his wages.
The midfielder suffered a torrid time at the Camp Nou since joining from Valencia in 2016 - his form deteriorating to the point he described life at Barca as "hell."
At one point, Gomes said he felt unable to leave his house after being booed during a win over title rivals Atletico Madrid in March.
Gomes will be accompanied by familiar faces at Goodison Park, with Yerry Mina also completing a move to the Merseyside club on Thursday and Lucas Digne making the switch earlier in the summer.
