Tito Rabat (Reale Avintia Racing) took a big tumble during testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Wednesday, and the Spaniard was taken to the Medical Centre before being transferred to the Hospital Quiron Dexeus in Barcelona.

After confirming he had no broken bones despite severe pain in his left elbow, Rabat had an ultrasound that revealed a 3cm muscle rupture. No surgery is required although the arm is in plaster and immobilized, and the Spaniard was discharged on Thursday morning.

He will now continue to recuperate, and a final answer on whether Rabat can race at Mugello will be made in the run up to the event – but the team are positive about the possibility.

"We have already left the hospital and everything has been very positive, both the care received at the Circuit and here at Dexeus, Dr. Charte and Dr. Mir have treated me very well,” says Rabat. “Yesterday we thought it would be very difficult to get to Mugello, because they would have to operate, but this morning we had other tests and we will spend the week with the arm in plaster. Next Tuesday we will have new tests. This year we are doing very well, we are very competitive and we will try to reach the best possible. I want to thank for all the support and encouragement I have received since the accident.”
