Valencia striker Paco Alcacer has told the club he wants a move to Barcelona before the transfer window closes.
Despite a denial on the part of Valencia over the sale of the player, Alcacer has gone directly to the club President and requested a move.
Negotiations over a transfer had taken place between Valencia and Barca, but without the two clubs coming to agreement. Now however, with the player showing a willingness to leave Valencia, a solution is set to be found. A €30m offer with a further €5m could be the amount both clubs can agree on.
Barca's opening offer, of €30m plus the loan of both Munir and Sergi Samper, was made several weeks ago.
Soon after this, Alcacer gave his word to Barca's transfer chief Robert Fernandez that he wanted to join the current La Liga holders.
Valencia's financial situation is a precarious one and they need funds before the transfer window shuts to comply with Financial Fair Play.
While it had been widely assumed that defender Shkodran Mustafi would be the player to leave and raise the money, it now seems likely Alcacer will be used to relieve the situation instead.
Alcacer renewed his deal with Valencia in January 2015, putting pen to paper on a deal until 2020.
