Atletico Madrid have been dealt a blow with the news Jan Oblak is set to be out for up to four months due to injury.
Oblak picked up the injury during Atletico Madrid's 3-0 defeat to Villarreal on Monday night, a result which saw them slip to sixth position in LaLiga.
To make the result even worse however, Atleti's now been rocked by the news Oblak requires shoulder surgery and is facing between three and four months on the sidelines.
Atleti also confirmed Oblak had picked up the injury during the loss to Villarreal.
“Jan Oblak suffered a dislocated left shoulder. The Slovenian has been transferred to a hospital to undergo a radiological study. The red and white goalkeeper had to be replaced by Miguel Ángel Moyá in the 40th minute of the match,” read a statement from the club.
It's a huge loss for Atleti, given the Slovenian has been an integral part of the team since signing in July 2014.
Atleti's back-up goalkeeper Miguel Ángel Moyà is now set to be called upon to fill the gloves of Oblak.
