SCHOLARS
Alabama 10-0 LSU
A nail-biting thriller which saw a defensive battle topped by smart coaching and hot tempers. This SEC matchup was no 2006 Rose Bowl, but it did mark the 6th straight time Nick Saban's Alabama beats LSU.
The win gives Alabama the undisputed title of the the Nation's number 1 team, and the grinding victory proves their mettle.
Good team to keep your eyes on come playoff season.
DROPOUTS
Virginia Tech 24 - 21 Duke
While Virginia Tech did come away with a narrow win against ACC rivals Duke, they earn the dropout title this week due to their performance. A 19th ranked team should not be winning nail-biters against unranked teams.
Defense played a big part in the Hokies' success, but a 75-yd blocked field goal return early in the first quarter was the catalyst of victory.
Frank Beamer may have been freshly retired, but Virginia Tech showed true "Beamerball" against the Blue Devils, who are still trying to find a break this season.
CLASS CLOWNS
University of Florida 10-31 Arkansas
Arkansas bounced back fantastically from their loss to Auburn two weeks ago with a thumping win over Florida Gators in an SEC Showdown.
With Florida being the 11th ranked team in the NCAA and the Razorbacks in limbo just outside the rankings, this marks one of the most humiliating losses for Jim McElwain under the Blue and Orange flag.
Offensive struggles plagued the Floridians throughout the four quarters and saw their defense score the lone touchdown. Meanwhile, Arkansas totaled a massive 466 total yards compared to Florida's 241.
