Lithuania See Of Serbia And Set Up Spain Final In Eurobasket 2015
Lithuania have the chance to avenge their 2013 Eurobasket final loss after seeing off Serbia in the semi-finals.
Lithuania returned to the Eurobasket final but only after coming through a tense last-four contest against Serbia with a 67-64 victory to set up a meeting with Spain.
Serbia, who were runners-up at the FIBA World Cup last year, headed into the contest in Lille unbeaten throughout the tournament.
However, it was Lithuania - runners-up to France two years ago - who finally ended their streak despite a spirited Serbia showing.
Lithuania were ahead by as many as 10 points midway through the third quarter, but Serbia fought hard to stay in the game with Milos Teodosic - man of the match in the quarter-final win over the Czech Republic - contributing 16 points.
It was not to be, though, as Lithuania were rewarded for a team effort, Jonas Valanciunas (15), Renaldas Seibutis (13), Mindaugas Kuzminskas (13) and Mantas Kalnietis (12) all contributing double figures.
Also on Friday, Czech Republic defeated Latvia 97-70 in a match to determine seventh and eighth place in the tournament.
