Kvitova pulls out of Eastbourne
After winning the Aegon Classic on Sunday, Petra Kvitova will not be competing in Eastbourne.
Petra Kvitova has been forced to pull out of this week's Aegon International with an abdominal strain.
The Czech claimed an emotional win at the Aegon Classic on Sunday, coming from behind to beat Ashleigh Barty in the Birmingham final.
It was a first tournament triumph for Kvitova since returning to action at the French Open after sustaining serious injuries to her left hand last December when an intruder broke into her apartment and attacked her with a knife.
But the two-time Wimbledon champion will have no more match practice before heading to SW19 for this year's tournament, after it was confirmed she would sit out Eastbourne.
Kvitova is among the favourites for Wimbledon this year, having previously won in 2011 and 2014.
