UEFA Nations League - Iceland 1 Switzerland 2 - Match Report
Iceland relegated from League A Group 2 following 2-1 defeat by Switzerland
Switzerland condemned Iceland to relegation to League A Group 3 of the UEFA Nations League with a 2-1 away victory in Reykjavík on Monday evening.
All the action came in the second half, as Haris Seferović headed Nati into the lead five minutes after the break. Switzerland doubled their advantage on the 66th minute as right-back Michael Lang surged into the box to smash the ball into the back of the net to give Switzerland a 2-0 lead.
Iceland had the better of the chances in the contest, and it took a moment of magic as Alfreð Finnbogason's long-distance strike flew into the top corner getting the better of Yvon Mvogo. The 2-1 victory leaves Switzerland in second place, whilst 2018 World Cup finalists Iceland are now relegated to group 3.
