Liverpool progressed to the round of 16 in some style, with a 7-0 win over Spartak Moscow. Liverpool raced into a 3-0 lead after just 19 minutes, with Coutinho scoring two and Firmino poking in the third. In the second half, Jurgen Klopp’s side ran riot and added four more goals. Mane grabbed the first of two goals in the 47th minute, with a stunning volley. Captain Coutinho completed his hat-trick in the 50th minute. Before Salah smashed in the seventh four minutes from time.
Sevilla qualified for the round of sixteen, following a 1-1 away draw against bottom of the table Maribor. The Slovenian side took the lead on the tenth-minute mark from the head of Tavares. However, the Spanish side fought back and with fifteen minutes from time found a leveller from Ganso.
Bottom of the table Feyenoord struck in second-half stoppage time to shock Napoli and register a 2-1 win. The Italians took an early lead when Zieliński smashed in the opener with the game just two minutes old. Credit to the Dutch side, they found a leveller on the half-hour mark from the head of Danish striker Nicolai Jørgensen. Napoli needed goals to progress and with 91 minutes on the clock, Jeremiah St. Juste headed in the winner for Van Bronckhorst's side.
Manchester City fell to their first defeat in the Champions League this season, losing 2-1 to Shakhtar Donetsk. The Ukrainians took a quick-fire lead in the first half through goals from Bernard and Ismaily and held out until second-half stoppage time before substitute Agüero tucked away from the penalty to half the deficit. The win for Shakhtar means they progress to the round of 16 in second place in group F.
Porto eased into the last sixteen with a compressive 5-2 win over Monaco. A brace from Aboubakar and a strike from Brahimi saw the Portuguese side head into the break with a 3-0 lead. Both Felipe and Ghezzal picked up straight red cards to cap off an interesting half in the Estádio do Dragão. Porto added two further goals from Telles and Soares in the second half before Monaco found the back of the net twice from a Glik penalty and Falcao header.
Beşiktaş ended their group stage on a high registering a last-gasp 2-1 win over RB Leipzig. The Turkish side took a tenth-minute lead from the penalty spot courtesy of Alvaro Negredo. Leipzig levelled up late on through Keïta, but the group winners found a late winner thanks to Talisca in the 90th minute.
Tottenham eased past bottom of the group APOEL with a comprehensive 3-0 victory. Llorente and N'Koudou scored first goals for Spurs in either half, whilst Son curled in his sides second goals to ensure that Tottenham ended the group stages with 16 points.
Real Madrid edged out Borussia Dortmund 3-2, having already confirmed second place in group H. Two goals in twelve minutes from Mayoral and Ronaldo gave Real the lead before a brace from Dortmund striker Aubameyang levelled the match. Madrid found a winner from Vázquez in the 81st minute.
