Raul Jimenez scores double for Benfica in Champions League
The Mexican striker netted his first two Champions League goals as his side grabbed an important point in Kazakhstan.
Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez isn't the only Mexican striker making a big impact in Europe.
Raul Jimenez netted two goals for Benfica on Wednesday, bringing the Portuguese side back from two-goal deficit against Astana in the Champions League for a 2-2 draw.
The Kazakhstan side appeared set for its first ever Champions League win when it took a 2-0 lead, but five minutes before halftime Jimenez headed home for his first Champions League goal.
In the 72nd minute, Jimenez tapped home from close range to draw Benfica level. The draw eliminated Astana from the competition and put Benfica on the verge of the round of 16.
For Jimenez, who moved to Portugal from Atletico Madrid in the offseason, it was his first club goal since scoring in the Portuguese league on Aug. 29.
