Ferrer lands Malaysian Open title
David Ferrer has won all four of his ATP World Tour finals in 2015, with Feliciano Lopez unable to stop his countryman in Kuala Lumpur.
Top seed David Ferrer came good at the crucial moments to beat fellow Spaniard Feliciano Lopez to the Malaysian Open title on Sunday.
Ferrer broke in the 12th game of each set to triumph 7-5 7-5 and secure his fourth title from as many ATP World Tour final appearances in 2015.
It was Lopez who initially gained the upper hand in Kuala Lumpur when Ferrer was broken to love in the seventh game of the match.
However, the world number eight responded by breaking back immediately and then accepted his first chance after getting to 15-40 as Lopez tried and failed to force a tie-break.
Lopez showed impressive resolve in the second set as he staved off three break points in his opening service game - and a further three at 4-3 down.
Ferrer was then forced to save a break point on his serve at 5-5, before making the decisive breakthrough on his second match point in the next game.
