Rio 2016: Morozov expected Russian boos
Boos towards Russian swimmers from the crowd inside the Aquatics Stadium came as no surprise to Vladimir Morozov.
Vladimir Morozov was not surprised to hear the Russian 4x100 metre freestyle team whistled during Sunday's final in the pool.
Russia's preparations for Rio 2016 were disrupted by allegations of state-sponsored doping made in the McLaren report, with many athletes only being cleared to compete one day before the start of the Games.
In total 271 of the 387 athletes named in the original entry list were permitted to take part, however they have been met with a mixed reaction in Brazil.
Yulia Efimova was roundly booed before her 100 metre breaststroke final on Sunday, and the men's relay team were given similar treatment as they finished out of the medals in fourth.
"I was not surprised by the whistles from the stands," Morozov told Russian news agency TASS.
"I expected such a reaction.
"It is unfortunate that we did not win a medal, but it is not the most humiliating defeat in my career."
