Wales back Amos sidelined until the new year
Newport Gwent Dragons confirmed that Wales back Hallam Amos needs surgery on a shoulder injury ruling him out until 2017.
Hallam Amos will be sidelined until the New Year after suffering a shoulder injury while on Wales duty.
The versatile back was injured in the second half of Wales' 32-8 defeat to Australia in Cardiff last weekend and was consequently released from their Test squad.
Amos, who had impressed as a second-half substitute, has now undergone further evaluation with his club side Newport Gwent Dragons, who confirmed he will need surgery and his rehabilitation will keep him out until 2017.
"The Welsh International was released from the Wales squad after sustaining a shoulder injury against Australia," read a Dragons statement.
"Having been reviewed by a specialist he will undergo surgery next week. Amos will then require a period of rehabilitation with an expected return to play in the New Year."
