Henshaw facing six-week lay-off with fractured hand
Connacht and Ireland back Robbie Henshaw is facing a potential six-week stint on the sidelines with a fractured left hand.
Ireland will hope Robbie Henshaw can return to full fitness in time for the Six Nations after the centre suffered a fracture to his left hand in Connacht's victory over Munster.
An 18-12 triumph on Saturday saw Connacht win at Thomond Park for the first time since 1986, but the Pro12 leaders' delight at that result has been tempered by news of Henshaw's injury.
A Connacht statement on Monday read: "Robbie Henshaw suffered a metacarpal fracture to his hand in the last play of the game against Munster.
"He is currently in Dublin for a surgeon review but is likely to be sidelined for up to six weeks."
Ireland begin their Six Nations defence on February 7, when Wales visit Dublin.
Versatile back Henshaw already boasts 15 caps for his country, having made his debut against the United States in June 2013 at the age of 19.
