Baldwin plays down Springboks win
Wales may have beaten South Africa the last time they played, but Scott Baldwin talked that win down.
Wales hooker Scott Baldwin played down the significance of his team beating South Africa last time they met.
The Springboks have a dominant record over Wales ahead of their Rugby World Cup quarter-final at Twickenham on Saturday.
Of their 30 previous meetings, the Welsh have won just two – but one of those was in Cardiff in November last year.
But Baldwin, who was part of that winning team at the Millennium Stadium, said his side could only take some confidence out of that victory.
"I think obviously it's a positive that we won the game. There were certain aspects of that game that we've looked at for positives for this game," he said.
"But I think that this is a completely different game, it's a different occasion, it's cup rugby.
"Obviously we're confident going into the game having that result 12 months ago.
"But in hindsight it doesn't really mean anything - this weekend's what counts and hopefully we put in a performance on Saturday and get the result again."
