Can Liverpool make a creditable title push this season?
Mitch Freeley
Is this going to be Liverpool’s year that they finally lift the Premier League title? Jurgen Klopp has made a big splash in the transfer, spending the money he received for Phillippe Coutinho in January and then some. On paper, the signings look shrewd and look to have addressed squad weakness in midfield with the signings of Fabinho & Naby Keita.
Whilst in goal, the Reds have gone big with the World record signing of Brazilian stopper Alisson from Roma. After Loris Karius effectively handed Real Madrid the Champions League with two blunders, Klopp is taking no chances and will be hoping that the 25-year old will be able to quickly adapt to the Premier League.
For Liverpool, it’s going to be a question of consistency in the league. Last season, the Reds drew 12 games nowhere near winners Manchester City who only picked up one point on 4 occasions. If Klopp can get his team playing, and quickly the Merseyside club have a solid chance of being credible title contenders.

How has the summer Transfer window been? In one word: brilliant. We’ve appeared to have addressed the biggest weaknesses in our squad and the signing of Alisson has no doubt calmed the nerves of many a Liverpool fan who were fearing the sight of Loris Karius starting in goal for the opening game of the season. Although Fekir would have been a welcome addition I’m not too concerned if we don’t add anyone else between now and the deadline. Now it’s all about trimming the squad.
Player to watch? Naby Keita. It's been a long wait to see him in a red shirt but I think he could be the midfielder that we've missed in recent years. A player who's capable of scoring great goals as well as providing a bit of bite in a side that's often been accused of being too soft.
How’s the manager going to do? Boss! Well, I hope so anyway! After a few near misses in cup finals, I'm hoping that he can end his and the club's own trophy drought having won just one League Cup in the last 12 years. The Anfield trophy cabinet is starting to get a bit dusty.
What would be a dream season for your team? The same dream we've had for the last 28 years, to win the league! Realistically though I'd settle for still being in contention come early April and an FA Cup or Carabao Cup. As for the Champions League who knows after last season’s run to the final?
Premier League finish? Heart says 1st, head says 2nd or 3rd.
