Senators end Stars' run, Getzlaf impresses
Ryan Getzlaf matched an Anaheim Ducks record as the Dallas Stars were finally beaten in the NHL.
The Ottawa Senators emphatically ended the Dallas Stars' five-match winning streak in the NHL with a 7-4 win on Tuesday.
Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Mark Stone had three points as the Senators crushed the Central Division leaders at American Airlines Center.
The Senators had rolled out to a 5-1 lead when Pageau struck early in the third period.
Stars left wing Jamie Benn continued his goalscoring form with two for his team, who had reduced the deficit to 5-3 before going down.
Pageau scored twice and provided an assist, while Stone netted once and set up two others for the second-placed team in the Atlantic Division.
Ryan Getzlaf bettered that for the Anaheim Ducks as he equalled a franchise record with five assists in his team's 5-3 victory over the Calgary Flames.
Getzlaf was involved in every Ducks goal as they rallied from 2-0 and 3-2 down.
Rickard Rakell, Corey Perry and Ryan Kesler scored third-period goals for the Ducks, who are fifth in the Pacific Division.
