New Zealand ask ICC to explain Lyon decision
Mike Hesson said New Zealand had asked the ICC to explain the decision not to give Nathan Lyon out in the third Test.
New Zealand have demanded answers from the ICC regarding the controversial Nathan Lyon decision in the third Test against Australia, coach Mike Hesson said.
Lyon was given not out after a Decision Review System (DRS) call went his way in the first innings of Australia's third Test win in Adelaide.
The tourists appealed for a catch, but third umpire Nigel Llong ruled there was not enough evidence to give Lyon out despite Hot Spot showing a mark.
Lyon was yet to get off the mark when the incident occurred and he went on to make a vital 34.
Hesson said New Zealand had asked for a please explain from the ICC, but feels there is nothing wrong with the technology.
"It was excellent, wasn't it?" he told a news conference on Monday.
"Everybody at the ground saw what unfolded. We've certainly made a representation to the ICC and at present are awaiting an acceptable response."
Australia completed a three-wicket win on Sunday to secure a 2-0 series victory.
