The Chicago Blackhawks ended the Montreal Canadiens' winning streak in the NHL as the Boston Bruins shut out the Colorado Avalanche.
Patrick Kane scored the game-winner as the Blackhawks edged the Canadiens 3-2 on Sunday.
Tuukka Rask made 20 saves for the Bruins, who recorded a 2-0 victory over the Avalanche.
There were also overtime wins for the Vancouver Canucks and Minnesota Wild.
SPECIAL KANE
Kane netted the winner for the Blackhawks with just under four minutes remaining in the second period, ending the Canadiens' four-match streak.
Montreal had led 2-1 thanks to Shea Weber and Andrei Markov, but Marian Hossa tied the game before Kane's goal.
RASK SHUTOUT
Rask stopped 20 shots for his third shutout of the season.
David Krejci and Dominic Moore scored in the first and third periods respectively to see the Bruins to their win.
OVERTIME NEEDED
The Canucks needed an extra period to get past the Dallas Stars 5-4.
Markus Granlund was the hero in OT, with the Stars having coughed up 3-1 and 4-3 leads.
The Wild edged past the Ottawa Senators 2-1.
KANE'S WINNER
SHOOT-OUT JETS
The Winnipeg Jets had a 3-2 shoot-out win over the Los Angeles Kings and the New York Rangers beat the Edmonton Oilers 3-1.
LIGHTNING IN NEW YORK
The New York Islanders (5-7-3) host the Tampa Bay Lightning (8-6-1) in the only game on Monday. Steven Stamkos will be looking to add to his 17 points to start the season.
