Furyk named United States Ryder Cup captain
The United States will be lead by the experienced Jim Furyk when they attempt to retain the Ryder Cup on European soil next year.
Jim Furyk has been named as the United States captain for the 2018 Ryder Cup at Le Golf National.
Furyk was vice-captain when the United States regained the famous trophy with a resounding 17-11 victory over Europe at Hazeltine last year and was on Wednesday confirmed as Davis Love III's successor.
Fred Couples was also a contender for the role, but it is 2003 U.S. Open who will lead his country in the prestigious biennial event near Paris against a Europe team which will be captained by Thomas Bjorn.
