France 2017: Qatar team are ready for world championship

The last World Championship runner-up’s staff has unveiled the names of the players called for the training camp in Barcelona.
After losing in final of the home World Championship in 2015, and finishing 8th at the last Olympics in Rio, Qatar is now a solid value of international handball. The two-times Asian champion title holder will thus have a reputation to uphold during the World Championship in France. To prepare the competition, head coach Valero Rivera called in 23 players.
This squad of 23 will stay in Barcelona until December 23th for a training camp, and will then be reduced to 16 players before January 10th, which is the deadline for the submission of the team roster to IHF. Qatar will start the 2017 World Championship against Egypt on January 13th, at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris, where they will play all of their group phase games. The Qatari selection will then face Bahreïn (January 15th), Argentina (January 17th), Sweden (January 19th) and Denmark (January 20th).
