Whiteside set for Heat stay, Lin looking for NBA 'home'
Hassan Whiteside took to Snapchat to confirm he is staying put at the Miami Heat, while Jeremy Lin is looking for his NBA "home".
As NBA free agency continues to rumble on, the Miami Heat have been boosted by solid commitment from Hassan Whiteside, while the future of Charlotte Hornets guard Jeremy Lin seems far less straightforward.
Whiteside took to Snapchat to confirm he would stay on with the Heat.
The NBA blocks leader uploaded a video to his Snapchat story in which someone off camera asked him where he would sign.
In typical Whiteside fashion, he replied "Miami", before Will Smith’s famous track of the same name started playing as the centre walked away.
Additionally, he wrote on The Players' Tribune: "I just wanted to take this time to tell all the fans how much you mean to this team, and to me.
"Can't wait to get back to work and try to bring another championship to Miami."
Meanwhile, Lim admitted he is looking for an "NBA home" during the free agency period, saying he is open to a return to the New York Knicks.
"It's not looking likely, because they just traded for Derrick Rose," Lin said at the World Economic Forum in China.
"But I will say, ever since I left I've been open to going back, and I still am. Never say never. That's the one thing in the NBA. Never say never. So I've always been open, but right now, I'm not sure it's the best timing.
"I want to find a home. I want to see how good I can become. I'm 27, an athlete's prime in the NBA is usually 27-30."
